Shakespeare Magic in the Adventure Learning Garden

Yesterday saw the culmination of the second year of our partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company in a beautiful outdoor performance of extracts from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We were joined by parents of our Year 7 Fairies, Shakespeare Ambassadors Emma Platt, Charlie Vickery and John Hopper, and a range of staff and students, including Isobel King, Education Manager at Hall for Cornwall. The sun shone in the idyllic woodland setting, and memorable performances from Lewannick school students, Issy Paul and Jade Gilbert were punctuated by moments of singing and speech from the Fairies. Mrs. Maywood’s students had provided a wonderful range of cakes and treats for afterwards, and the celebration was perfectly rounded off with tea and cakes in the school marquee. Speeches of thanks were given by Mr. Wendon and by Fiona Clayton from the education department at the RSC, who praised Launceston College students for the efforts they have put into the school partnership.
