Students will sit four exams in the summer term of their Year 11:
· Speaking exam period from Thursday 30th April to Wednesday 6th May
· Listening and reading exams on Tuesday 12th May
· Writing exam on Friday 15th May
|CGP revision guide and workbook:
Students have been given the opportunity to purchase a CGP revision guide and workbook (See online parent pay).
The revision guide can be used to create mind maps or flashcards to reinforce subject knowledge such as grammar, tenses, vocabulary and key structures. The workbook contains exam questions and answers. This is particularly useful for independent learning to check subject knowledge and practise exam style questions.
How to use this resource: This resource is a free language learning application that can be used on computers, laptops, tablets or phones. It focusses on learning topic-specific vocabulary needed to tackle the listening and reading exams with confidence. It is organised per units of work, following the GCSE Kerboodle book used in lessons and covers all of the themes from the specification. Students should already have an account and should already have joined the Launceston College French Yr11 group called Launceston College Year 11 French. How to use this resource: Another free language application but this one focuses more on useful vocabulary for the speaking and writing exam, as well as topic-specific vocabulary. There are a range of learning techniques and exercises to complete. Quizlet is available on the website as well as downloaded as an app. Students should already have an account and should already have joined the school group called Launceston College GCSE French. How to use this resource: Seneca learning has all the core content for the AQA GCSE exam. Students can answer the questions in order to assess their subject knowledge. Resources can be re-read to ensure that there are no misconceptions. This is particularly useful for checking subject knowledge and is good practice for the reading and listening exams as well as ensuring accuracy for the speaking and writing. |Past exam question
How to use this resource: This resource contains all the past exam papers for this new GCSE exam. Students can practise by answering questions in exam conditions at home. This resource also gives access to the mark schemes of some past exam papers so students can check their answers and get a better understanding of what is required to get full marks. Teachers can read students’ answers, especially when doing translation questions and writing papers and provide feedback. This is particularly useful to check understanding and application of subject knowledge.
How to use this resource: Students have a username and can log in to ActiveLearn to access the digital course textbook as well as complete listening, reading and grammar exercises. There is also a section to practise vocabulary and record yourself on the example speaking questions. Every student has a login which is the same as their school username e.g 17EP1234. There is also a forgotten my password link to reset passwords should students have forgotten their. This website works best on google chrome and you have to ensure pop-ups are enabled (if not google how to enable popups on google chrome for instructions on how to do this).
