Course:

Exams: (not to be taken in 2021)

Students in Year 11 will complete the following aspects to complete the course:

Paper 1 worth 50 % of the overall grade

·         Section A – Core technical principles (20 marks).

·         Section B – Specialist technical principles (30 marks)

·         Section C – Designing and making principles (50 marks)

An NEA (non examined assessment) worth 50% of the overall grade.

Revision resources:
Collins revision guide:

How to use this resource: Students have been given a Collins revision guide. This can be used to create mind maps or quizzes. This can then be used to check subject knowledge and understanding. There are a range of questions within the revision guide along with answers. This is particularly useful for checking and revising subject knowledge.

BBC Bitesize

How to use this resource: This resource is useful for testing the core and specialist knowledge. Students can be quizzed by a peer or an adult at home. The answers are also included.

The Technology Student

How to use this resource: The technology student website has a wealth of content. The website can be used to create mind maps or quizzes. This can then be used to check subject knowledge and understanding. There are a range of questions included in most sections. This is particularly useful for checking and revising subject knowledge.

Seneca Learning

How to use this resource: Seneca learning has all the core content for components 1 and 2, with information to support student learning. Students can answer the questions in order to assess their subject knowledge. Resources can be re-read to ensure that there are no misconceptions. This is particularly useful for checking subject knowledge.
