Pearl of Africa Visit College

The Pearl of Africa Children’s Choir spent the day at Launceston College on the 4th December and were greeted by Principal Jack Jackson on their arrival. They organised a workshop for Year 7 students who thoroughly enjoyed watching the choir perform and then learning some African songs, games and dances.

A fabulous lunch was prepared for the choir by the catering students in Dunheved House, which was followed by a short lunchtime performance for all staff and students. The Ugandan students then attended lessons in maths, English, biology and history. The choir are truly inspiring and the students at the college were very excited to meet and work with them.

Their visit to Launceston ends a 3 month tour of the UK, raising money to help fund the education of over 2000 students in Uganda.
