Exams and Induction Information for Year 11

Dear Year 11,

We are now two weeks into the exam season and I wanted to write to you to praise you for the exemplary approach you have shown before, during and after each exam. Not only have the exam team been full of positivity about your conduct, but the comments from an exam inspector when she visited earlier this week were also full of praise. Well done and thank you.

You now have a week to make sure you recharge your batteries for one final push for three weeks after half term. During the half term break try and find a happy balance between keeping the revision going and finding time for yourselves.

Over the last few weeks I have had several Year 11 students come and ask me questions about changing courses for next year in the Sixth Form. If you have any queries it is never a problem for you to come and find me at a break or lunchtime in the Sixth Form block, or if you still haven’t completed an application yet there is still time to do so and the application form is on our website.

For those of you who have already sent in an application can I take this opportunity to remind you of the Sixth Form Induction Day on Thursday 14th July. This will begin at 8.50am in the Old Hall and finish at 1.30pm. During this event you will receive all the required information for a seamless transition into the Sixth Form. If you are unable to attend this event please could you let the Sixth Form team know with a quick email to sixthform@launcestoncollege.org.uk

Finally, and as if you needed reminding, your final exam will be on the morning of Thursday 23rd June, after which you will be able to leave the College premises and look forward to your leaver’s celebration on Friday 1st July at Trethorne. If you have any problems with getting home after your final exam and need to stay in College for school transport, please let you Head of House know so that appropriate supervision can be arranged.

Wishing you the very best of luck for the remaining exams.

Kind regards,

Steve Rush
Assistant Principal KS5
