Visit from Booker Prize shortlisted novelist Fiona Mozley
As part of the Aspire Programme, a range of students from Year 9 to Year 13 were invited to a workshop hosted by Fiona Mozley. Having attended a comprehensive school in Yorkshire, which she described as strikingly similar to Launceston College, Fiona studied History at Cambridge University before working part time to facilitate the writing of her debut novel. Fiona described some of the practicalities of her creative processes, and talked in detail about the skills and challenges involved in writing a novel. Students contributed well to a lively and instructive question and answer session. The session closed with Fiona reading a short excerpt from her novel.
