Trevithick House Charity Week
There were lots of weird and wacky events going on in Trevithick House between Monday 29th April and Friday 3rd May to help raise funds for the Launceston Foodbank. Students in Year 7 organised two bring and buy sales; students in Year 8 organised a raffle and guess the number of sweets in the jar competitions; students in 9ATR baked and sold delicious cakes; students in Year 10 organised a penalty shoot out competition; students in Year 11 organised a “sponge the teachers” event and 12JMA ran a “Where’s Wally?” competition.
The response from students and staff across the school was phenomenal and after a week of lots of hard work the grand total raised was £283.75. Special mentions must go to Sam Iggulden, Jack Pearson and Cory Jackson for their hard work in organising the penalty shoot our competition. Also to 8EJM, the smallest tutor group in the school, for their fantastic efforts in raising over £100 by selling raffle tickets and also to 11EJT and 13DW for their generous contributions of food items.
On Wednesday 15th May Mr Sandford, Miss Saunter, Lydie Johnson and Paige Edens (Charity Leader) paid a visit to the Launceston Foodbank to meet Mrs King (Foodbank Chairperson), Mrs Bailey (Foodbank Vice Chairperson) and Mr Cook (Foodbank volunteer) to learn more about how the Foodbank works and also to present the cheque for £283.75 and the donated food items.
Trevithick House would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped to make this such a wonderful week.
