Parent Briefing – 5 November 2021

Dear parents and carers

It was lovely to welcome back our students and staff today after a well earned half term break.

Whilst the Government advice is that staff and students in secondary schools no longer need to wear face coverings, we have decided to continue to ask that these are worn in assemblies and indoor communal areas due to the high numbers of Covid-19 cases nationally and in the local community. Please ensure students have a face covering with them as part of the equipment.  Students are also asked to continue to wear a facemask while travelling to school by bus.

Thank you to all our families who continue to take the Lateral Flow Tests at home. We would encourage all students to do these and for the results to be reported via the front page of our website at

Year 8 Parent Information Evening
On Thursday 11th November we will be holding the Year 8 Parent Information Evening between 5.30pm and 6.30pm in the Old Hall. An information letter was sent yesterday to all parents of Year 8 students. We look forward to seeing you then.

Revision Hub
Some time ago we put together a revision hub to support parents and students with revision. This has a range of revision materials for each subject and guidance about how they can be used to support students in preparation for the GSCE assessments. The revision hub has been updated and can be accessed here: or through the College website on the curriculum, parent or student tab.

Emergency Closure Procedures
Thank you to those who have completed the survey already to confirm how your child should make their way home from College should we ever need to close in an emergency. If you have not completed this, please could you fill the survey in via this link Please fill this survey out for each of your children.

Home College Agreement

The Home College Learning Agreement and the Student Code of Conduct outlines all of our responsibilities and expectations and we consider it to be a very important document. We ask parents and students to sign this when they first join the College and we share an updated reminder on our website every year. The latest version of the agreement can be found here Responsibility was a key assembly theme at the start of the Autumn term and students will be revisiting this theme and the student code of conduct with their tutor this half term.

Best wishes
