Outstanding Performance at Cornish Final

Annabelle Barnes represented Launceston College at the Cornish Final of the National Poetry By Hear Final. This was held at Truro Library and was attended by a very excited and impressive audience. Annabelle had her own team of 13 supporters including students from Year 7 to 11. The competition was of a really high quality and Annabelle’s performances of “Kubla Khan”, “Truce” and “What The Chairman Told Tom” were excellent. The winner of the event was a sixth form student from Treviglas, Newquay: she will now represent Cornwall in the finals at Cambridge University.

The poems for this competition can all be accessed from the Poetry By Heart website and we would encourage students to start leaning so that they can follow in Annabelle’s fantastic footsteps.
