Message for Year 7 Parents

Dear parents/carers

Year 7 have just completed their first week with us and we are really pleased with how they have coped and the enthusiasm they have shown in lessons. The tutor groups have been able to spend some time getting to know their tutor and tutor group, including a session at our Adventure Learning Centre. We have had some very positive feedback about them, which is great to hear.

Hopefully by now they are getting used to some of the protocols in the Year 7 Hub, lining up after break and lunch and how the one-way system works. It has been great to see their smiling faces, especially at breaks when they are happy to chat, ask questions and be with their friends.

Please can I ask that your child returns their Home School Agreement which was in the welcome pack and hands it to their tutor. I would also encourage them to bring any transition work with them so that they can hand it to their teachers.

This week we would normally be holding a ‘meet the tutor’ event but this is not going to be possible at this time, I am so sorry. However, your child’s tutor is still contactable; you should have received an email from them with their contact details and introducing themselves to you. If you would like to share any feedback from the first few days or if you have any questions for them then please do email your child’s tutor and request a call from them.

At the earliest opportunity we will invite you into College; we are currently exploring ways to hold Parent Teacher Meetings so we can have those all-important conversations about learning.

Thank you for all your support so far, it really does make a difference and we very much value your input and feedback. I would encourage you to keep an eye on our website for updates and latest news stories.

Kind regards

L. Rash
