Library and Information Centre

The College Library and Information Centre is foremost in supporting literacy, learning, teaching, reading for pleasure and research throughout the school community.

The Library offers services by dedicated specialist librarians who provide expert guidance and support to help pupils to develop information skills for independent learning.

Some of the services offered are:

• Loan Facilities for Books, DVDs & CDs.
• Resources linked to the Curriculum.
• Learning, Research & Information Literacy.
• After School Study Time.
• Reading Promotion for Literacy, Personal Development & Recreation.

For the foreseeable future the library will run a click and deliver service straight to your tutor room. Use the link and log in with your Library barcode (available from your English teacher) and the password that begins 391ch and the two first initials of your first and second name e.g. Harry Potter 391chHaPo. You can browse all the books you like and reserve a title by 3pm that will be delivered to your tutor group the next day. If your book is already out, you can reserve it or a similar book can be delivered. Happy reading!

LOAN FACILITIES~

are provided through the library management system called Libresoft. Our catalogue, which can also be accessed through Click and Collect, allows students to check their accounts and see when items are due for return.

Students in Y7~Y11.  A maximum of four items.

  • Up to three books for a period of four weeks; plus two renewal periods.
  • One DVD for two days.
  • One music CD for seven days.

Students in Y12 & Y13.  A maximum of six items.

  • Up to six books for a period of four weeks; plus two renewal periods.
  • One DVD for two days.
  • One music CD for seven days.

Students are responsible for keeping their loans in good condition and returning them before they become overdue.
