International Festival Finale
Hello and welcome back to the final update for the MFL department’s International Festival.
This week saw the final category – creative projects – which asked students to recreate a famous work of art, sculpture, painting or monument using materials of their choice.
We had some incredibly original and creative entries including an outstanding reproduction of Picasso’s masterpiece, “Guernica”, by Felix Jacobs (10SMZ), an interpretation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night by Callum Taylor (7LAH), who used a soldering iron on wood to create his piece and Donna Hillman’s (8HB) take on Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, using watercolour brush pens on canvas and accurately encapsulating the style of the original painting.
We would like to congratulate and thank every one of you for taking part in the International Festival this year. We hope it’s given you a wider perspective of the importance of learning languages at school and our role as global citizens.
