Golden Goal Decider in Charity Netball Match

Miss Taylor (Science) and Mr Lyle (PE) challenged each other to a sporting competition with staff and students to raise money for their respective House charities the RNLI and British Heart Foundation. They have organised 3 events of netball, basketball with a final head to head of boccia. Today was the first match with a mixture of staff and students playing netball in the sunshine at lunchtime. It was a close fought game with 3 staff members and 4 students on each time, both boys and girls competing against each other. Lots of staff and students came to cheer on their respective teams and enjoy the sport. The final result was 3 all after 2 halves of 8 minutes. Spectators were asked to make a small donation to the two charities to watch.

To decide the result, it was a golden goal situation between Miss Taylor and Mr Lyle. Mr Lyle went first and missed, with Miss Taylor scoring to take the first game and the lead in the series. The next match will be basketball on Wednesday 1st March, with boccia following on Wednesday 8th March.
