Other Opportunities in Science

On Wednesday 9th July 2014 Launceston College Science Faculty invited Malcolm Wright in to College for the afternoon.  Malcolm worked closely with Year 12/13 Physics students on key topics in the A2 Physics course.  Of particular focus and interest were applications of theoretical Geophysics.  Along with Mr Gidzewicz and Mr Chesbrough, both physics teachers at the College, Malcolm took the students to the college playing fields and introduced key processes and techniques in applying conceptual ‘electrical resistivity’ and ‘magnetometers’ to a hands on experience.  Students found this a useful part of the course and an interesting insight in to real world applications of Geophysics.  Launceston College Science Faculty would like to thank Malcolm for his time and enthusiasm.’
